I hereby declare that I'll instantly remove the following stuff when it's uploaded to the file archive and when I spot it:

• CS2D hat scripts which do not contain any screenshots of hats but just a stupid hat selection menu screenshot. I may also remove them if the same hats re-appear all the time. And honestely: Stop uploading this shit. Nobody needs more of it. Everybody will hate you for uploading yet another hat script (which is probably just stolen anyway).

• CS2D admin/say/color scripts: There are thousands of these as well. Please check all existing scripts to make sure that your script brings ESSENTIAL new features and is worth a new file in the archive.

• All other CS2D scripts: Please make sure that they are really new or at least better than existing scripts! Otherwise they might get removed as well.

I would appreciate to see advantages over existing scripts (with proper file links) listed in the file description! This would show everybody that you did your research and that the existence of your file is justified.

All other rules and guidelines still apply. I just wanted to let you know about these special cases.

Yes, I could and should probably add that to the guidelines when someone tries to upload something to the cs2d scripts section...

I will personally come to you and kiss you for this, user DC. I am already buying the ticket.

Does this apply to existing files, or only to newly uploaded ones?

It's for new files. You can also remove existing ones though. Please just take a look at the date then and don't delete the oldest "original" version.

@user Horazont: Some people seem to want this stuff and that stuff is just re-colored doesn't make it bad. Of course it doesn't make sense to have 100 golden AK-47 skins though... but forbidding re-colors in general would be wrong in my opinion.

I know this might be too complicated to do but...

What about making every file uploaded go trough a process where it receives likes or dislikes?

If it haves more likes than dislikes after a week it's accepted and added to the actual CS2D uploads list

If it haves more dislikes than likes it gets deleted and the user gets notified that his skin didn't meet Unreal Software's standards.

@user Drunkard: This is off-topic. I'm not planning to change the system at all.

(However: Too many shitheads around. People would create accounts just to downvote or upvote files. There are ways to deal with this as well - for example only accept votes from active users who upload files successfully themselves - but it gets way too complicated and is still not 100% safe.)

onTopic: I like the second point. I hope this thread will encourage people to search a little bit before making/uploading new stuff.
(a new checkbox maybe? autosearch based on title? (after completely filling up the first page))

I could actually do that (for you)

There could be another long thread about that, but in short this won't work as expected (has many downsides)

It will be better if the mods just delete the files which users think they're not the same in either ways. But the admins script and the useless skins which this site has made itself look like some 5 years drawing, free to download. But the core problem is thats theres TOO much 'junkasshomouseless' skins and scripts. that us the users did/and made.
well thats my opinion.
