Hi, I need to remove player shadows through the mod menu.

My question is simple, what file does CS2D use to display the shadow beneath the players? Is it
gfx/shadow.bmp
? I thought so but I tried turning it completely black and I can still see the shadow (even after restarting CS2D.)

Does anyone have a clue?

For anyone wondering, I'm referring to this:

Unfortunately the used image is included in the build (no external file) and therefore can't be modified/replaced.

Only way would be to modify the binary (cs2d.exe) which isn't allowed.

Which would also require every player to use the custom build which makes my whole concept redundant.

I would ask for this to be changed, but alas, I know it won't be.

Thanks for the quick response.

I forgot one option: You could also disable player shadows with the player shadow setting. You could set it with Lua.
cs2d cmd playershadows

This however would only work if your mod is a singleplayer mod as you can't change settings of other players for good reasons.

@user DC: I see.

I need it for my prop hunt mod, and for that I need the prop players to have the ability to turn into props, and the shadow overlaps the prop images.

There is only "under", "over" and "over entities" for images, none of which allow "above shadow below players".

I've had that problem with another mod of mine (TF2D) which caused me to cancel the project.

Here it's not as big of a deal though, but still annoying.
