I've never used at least one custom skin. Only default.
But if Simonas will add nice skin system, I will use it.
The same with other players. I play since 2007, spending in this game A LOT of time.
No one wants to go on the forum and search fucking skins. It should be added right in the game. And it should be not so easy to get skins. No one even wants to download skins for free. Getting skins should be enjoyable.

I agree with user KOF here.

Yes CS2D is very customizable for every person and that's good. But it shouldn't be used as an argument against a system to display up to a certain amount of customizable content for everyone.

If it were ever to be developed, the skins could be submitted by users and added each update if approved. Of course skins should stay skins and not look like a completely different weapon as this would be confusing.

Unreal Software would need to invest money in game servers in at least 2 locations in Europe and somewhere in the East Coast USA, otherwise I don't see any sense in this idea. Playing the match on hosted server by random guy is kinda risky. Manipulating settings, collecting ip addresses of players. That's dangerous, don't you think so? Also this feature would might double the number of cheaters, so built-in anti-cheat is needed. Well that's my two cents.

The servers won't be hosted by random guys. I will clearly pick people who will host the servers. And this feature would make twice less cheaters.. where you logic comes from. Everything is server sided, all data, dedicated are only from trusted people. Also only USGN/Steam users. And there might be anti-cheat improvements later on.

Kids will use cheats to get a better rank like in every game where is something to achieve. Required USGN/Steam account won't stop cheating. Anti-cheat is really important in my opinion.

You can ban those people from competitive scene + rank is removed. Thus, I can make specific servers work only with specific rank.

Yeah but what will catch a cheating player? The human eye? That's not enough. Someone who never played on the highest level? It would cause unfair bans. Anti-cheat build-in in the game code would definitely help in catching cheaters, that's my point.

Also anti-speedhack is already in the game, it did looked like it works on lower latency and better connection.

@user SQ: You misunderstood me. It's not about accepting and adding them (for obvious reasons, you can't add everything that's there) but about providing some feedback on why they're getting discarded or ignored. Mostly on the small ones that can be easily implemented (or that it seems so).

And, I'm not against this feature at all, it's just quite odd that (IMHO),
after few disaprovals and such, it suddenly gets into development.

@user SQ: It solve aimhack and speedhack that's nice. What about implementing screenshot system like in CS 1.6? CS2D would automatically take a screenshot every X seconds then send it on unrealsoftware or other separated server. Everyone would have access to view screenshots. And after a week files would be deleted to save server space. I'm aware that experienced cheat developer can bypass that method but script kiddies would have a lot of problems.

Also another idea, create database with checksum of cheats. That cheats you could get from youtube vidoes. Then compare cheksum of running programs with database every round start or whenever you want. If both values are equal ban ip/usgn/steam or even hardware ban.

I have no idea if something like this is hard to implement but you could do some steps to prevent cheating. You are a good programmer as I noticed. Good luck with that and thanks for answer.

Well, if you think in this way:
You may not use any other skins except new standard(smn's) on competitive server. If you have a nice weapon skin in competitive is different than you have it in normal, because it show that you deserved that in battles etc. No need to disallow skins(and nobody will) for normal servers. This is stupid.

So that's why I'm working on competitive scene. So I can fuck it up there.
