There is no link. My chemistry book says so and if you don't believe it I'm not gonna scan it.

If you still feel that we are wrong, please give me a link or anything that proves that -anol is correct and -ol is wrong. Yet I don't think you will find anything.

The suffix is -ol, not -anol, because technically alcohol/alkanol= name of alkan + ol. And an alkanol = alkan + OH.
This is the procedure defined by IUPAC. If your book says something else, it may be correct, but it is an unofficial way to define alcohols. -ol is the official suffix, so deal with it.
For the ON-TOPIC on LSD... yes, you can die from it, probably. Your trip may be fun, but it just isn't worth it.
Now that ive watched the vid fully I can tell that dude has something more in him not just plain LSD ... probably angel dust and that's the shit that really will make you hallucinate and see shit that's not actually there or vise verse ...
BTW what the fuck is this Russia's version of MK Ultra AKA Project Artichoke? Criminal on death row?

@ pupp3tStudios: have you tried lsd? If not, you really don't have any basis to say if the trip was worth it or not.
That much LSD is totally not worth it. After 10 drops of Acid you don't feel anything different anyways. It just takes longer to fade. Guess he tripped for like 2 days straight.

My fault that I haven't explained there too much. I didn't mean that Alkan + OH is the same formula as an Alcohol,
I meant that we can imagine the alcohol as an alkan minus the hydrogen, which is an (radical) alkanyl: methyl, ethyl + OH.
So because we can "split" the alcohol into an alkanyl and the OH, we name the alcohol: alkan (the name of the alkan related to the alkanyl) + ol (from OH).
That's why there is a 2nd way to name alcohols, using the alkanyl: Methylic alcohol, ethylic alcohol. This is the Alkanyl + ic way to name them.
Using the analogy, the official way is Alkan + ol.
If we have something like 4-methylhexan-2-ol, meaning that we assign the -OH to the 2nd Carbon, this clearly shows that the ending is -ol.

Alkanyles are side groups, your argument is invalid.
----
Also, Methylic alcohol == Methanol. Ethylic alcohol == Ethanol.
And it's not alkan + ol. It's alk + anol.
-anol is the suffix for Alkanoles a.k.a Alcohols.
4-methyl-2-hexanol is invalid. You don't say 4-methyl when there is only 1 sidegroup. 4-methyl is the same as 2-methyl at a hexanol. Therefore it should be 2-methyl-2-hexanol.
You say it's ..-hexan-2-ol, while it's ..2-hexanol

No, it's not. Stop thinking you know it is and search it fod God sake, your book is wrong as also is arrogance common with Dutch.
Google it, give me a source which says -anol is correct or just stop fucking posting already.
Wikipedia - IUPAC nomenculature of organic chemistry has written
Alcohols (R-OH) take the suffix "-ol"...
Source article. Now could you please bloody shut it and stop discussing organic chemistry?

Don't like drugs? Don't do them. I'm sure everyone that does drugs knows the risk and also doesn't give a flying fuck about your opinion.
The real scary shit to take is PCP also known as angel dust. That shit will actually make you hallucinate and see things that are really there or worse make existing elements of reality disappear ... @_@ That shit will fuck you up and permanently fry your mind to the point you can no longer understand human speech or worse be left in a vegetative state. >_<
you can't even die from it (lung cancer from the tobacco maybe, eat it or smoke without tobacco) and you still get high.
