Hi, i have a mod request for Stranded 2 game. or formed a mod team for stranded 2 game

this is what i wanted:
1. Mr. Stranded is still stranded in the island (still based on original gameplay)
2. No city what so ever.
3. As Mr stranded develop his skill such as Farming, raising his own livestock, crafting goods and so on, he now can do a trading. (i think the trading part is already on the gameplay itself but more complex one will do no harm )
4. he can now do trading between island by building trading boat/ship. and or find another island for begin his new settlement. (AI can now travel by boat or ship to another island)
5. random attack at sea journey by monster or Weird Fish and or just onother miss fortune by nature itself such as storm. (short of pirates of the caribbean games aka sea dogs.)
6. he can now build a settlement and invite people to join his settlement that can grow in to village.
7. add feature like stranded 2.5 visible hand.
8. Animal can have population or food chain. so when you wiped out all the animal it will be extinct. (Animal food chain are script controlled so that they don't wipe out each other) these is kinda serious but i requested any way.
8a. example for animal population:
-when you wipe out eagle there whould whould be massive number of rat or snake or anything similar that can damage your crops or anything similar that can put you in to trouble.
9.people population. the number of people are not static that can increase with limited maximum number or decrease to zero (so you can be alone again for ever and ever).

-for the population stuff i think i have seen that on some one else mod.
-the sea journey is my favorite, you have to prepare for the journey such as food and water. or if you build larger ship you can bring livestock with you.

I would happily provide the model or texture request for these mod that i mentioned above
or we can combine our model or or texture and or we can use model or texture of your own or the default stranded 2 gfx.
if someone out there know how to add bump map or specular map and or bloom shader to the stranded2 game i would be very happy to learn and implemented to my model for stranded2 game.

i don't know how to script but i do believe that i know little bit about model, texture and animation

I believe this mod can be done if we work as a team.

I don't see anything there that without some major scripting can't be accomplished...

The animal food chain would be pretty hard to script, cause you would have to program the animals to kill other animals... but I think I can do that.



However, when I said "Major scripting" I meant it... there would be lots of lines of code in basically every aspect of the game. The fish attacks at see would be set on a random factor... moving from island to island would be somewhat harder...

AI traveling by boat, or ships, that would be hard, but not impossible.


Making settlements and other things... I could probably find a way to do that.



Question is, my time is very limited, why would I spend it on scripting

limited time. that's a good point there i do have a limited time my self that i believe i mentioned to you earlier but that does not meant that i don't want to its just that i cant guarantee that i can work fast .

and how about making these happen or at least some of it.
i will soon uploading the concept art for it.

The gameplay like this would be great, cause it's in a way innovative (you can't see it in many mods)

And, if you want a huge map with piles of islands on it, this map is going to have to be crafted by hand, or someone is going to have to edit the source alot!


I was thinking more of a random map, that way every time you played it would be different.

but... how are we going to tell the game engine to make pile of island across the sea? as far as i know that when you start a new random map there would be only single island with random resource.
or if there is a script to make short of scattered white grey height map.

and if i have to crafted the island by hand is there any possibility to use out source mesh such as already textured b3d file and treated that mesh as a buildable land.
(if not.. guess i have to draw the island height map and put the resource one at a time)




[still dreaming about how to add specular map and bump map to the game model ]

It would be any size of map you want in the beginning, randomly generated but with some extra stuff in the middle to make it look more hand crafted, more interesting.


And then, the other islands would be completely new maps.


You would unload one island, to go to the next.



I'm thinking of a village script, that would allow the stranded 2 random placing engine to place just 1 building somewhere randomly on an island.

Then extending the script in the building menu so that on:start it would place several different other buildings, and units, possibly items and objects.

That way all your other islands would be randomly generated too. You wouldn't have the same adventure repeatedly. It would be constantly a new adventure.

I'm start making list and model some stuff that need to be on the game that might help the scripting proses .





it's sound more like RTS/RPG/FPS/Surfival/Adventure/Puzzel Games

Something that I think would add a whole new level of survival need, and a real need for walls or palisades... would be stalking animals... are you interested in me elaborating what I mean by this?

For an ecosystem like you were talking about, you will need some more passive units, possibly even aggressive units...

Suggestions...


Rats,
Chickens,
Rabbits,
Deer (You can use my model if you wish)
Cows,
Snakes,
Squirrels,
Bears,

The chickens and Cows are there, because if you want a farming skill, maybe you could also have a ranching skill too. By breeding cows, and chickens that you would get from the other native villages.

Rats, Chickens, Squirrels, and Rabbits, would be food for everything.
Cows, Deer, would be food for bears, Lions, and raptors specifically.

I'll make it so that the larger the animal that the hostile animal eats... the longer it takes for the hostile animal to eat again.

i think i will edited the chicken to be more cartoon looking a bit.

i also made the trading raft.. already tested in the game and working just fine
