Hello, I am requesting permission to distribute CS2D to my website so my friends can download it faster because they are having problems downloading from unrealsoftware.de and it is too slow, I am going to put it in my site so the downloads will be faster. (Due to the server location, unrealsoftware.de is in Germany while my site is the Philippines.)

So, is it a Yes or a No?

CS2D is freeware. You can do that as long as you don't claim that it is your game.

Sure, its like your PC is close to the DE server. While my friends and I are far. So, it takes like 9 minutes to download a file from here with 1MBps internet connection.

megabytes or megabits? if you mean 1 megabit then thats your normal speed, it will always take 9 mins to download 10mb.
I don't think you mean 1megabyte because thats too much..

My net sucks but I have no problems with downloading even when the server is far away, it gives me the full speed most the time.
(my ping here is like 130-150)

Who would possibly get problems just downloading a CS2D installer or ZIP file?
It took me like 3 minutes to get CS2D working on this computer.

Bits and bytes aren't really programming, they're basic units of information.

There are 8 bits in a byte. Thus, there are 8 megabits in a megabyte. 1 megabit per second is 128 kilobytes per second. 1 megabyte per second is 8 megabits per second.

To get bytes (kilo-, mega-) from bits (kilo-, mega-), divide bits by 8. Pretty easy to memorise.

If you do the math, user

Rattle189 actually downloads CS2D at about 20 kilobytes per second despite his 1 Mbit/s connection. It's probably the distance.

This thread is over already and we're not THAT offtopic so
I'd like to ask you about something.
Before I had a 256kb connection (30kb download speed), now I got 4mb connection (400kb download speed), is the surfing speed different than the download speed or what? I don't get it.

That actually is pretty off topic.
To solve it, so that no more off topic occurs:
Internet connections are "sold" in bit. Most programs show your download speed in byte. So if your connection is a 256kbit connection, you have to divide it by 8 to get your actual download speed. 256/8 = 32kb(yte) Download Speed. 4mb connection means 4068kbit / 8 = 512kb(yte) download speed.
