Would it also be possible to change the rate of fire for a weapon? Like say if I want to change the rate of fire for the UMP-45 to better mimic its CS 1.6 counter part could it be done & if so how can it be done?

no you cant edit the weaponrate per commands or Lua.
as said you could do that only by editing the Cs2d client which would be a hack

normaly this as a server & client thing.
The good thing with rate of fire being customizable would be that you could customize weapons through Lua scripting and then assigning custom rate of fire values for those weapons, adding graphics to the new weapons would be awesome too.

It's changeable by server, not by client.
Hacked client sends msg that he's trying to shoot to the server -> Server checks if this attack message has been recieved atleast X seconds after the previous one. This won't be true if you want to make a faster weapon -> Fail
Client sends message to hacked server at normal rate -> Server allows to fire faster/slower, however the messages are received at normal rates and the only thing you can do is make a gun slower by not allowing the client to attack so fast -> Fail
it's currently not planned to make that changeable.
Maybe in the future their will be a server option to edit the weapon stats like damage per shot, ammo reserve, ammo per mag, rate of fire, & weight
Best if the ROF would be regulated in a ratio of 1-10 & have it limited so that it would not impact game play as much. You know like 1500 RPM limit or something like that
On another note DC will you ever in the future consider making the weapons more like CS 1.6 in terms rate of fire & similar damage ?
This is why i wanted to balance the weapons myself via lua but the dam ROF limitation killed that idea >>
now the important part: there are no headshots in CS2D so the pistols have to be stronger otherwise they are TOTALLY useless (and there would be absolutely no chance to win vs players with a primary weapon). this has been criticized earlier and I agreed and changed it. I can't please everybody.
adjusting the damage is absolutely sufficient for balancing in my opinion. just decrease the pistol damage and you're fine.

Yes but you can't "PWN" an m4a1 or ak user with a USP or a GLOCK.

Um... yes you can, its called skills dude.
Don't be as dependent on your primary weapons like most people, and use your side arm more often. Then you'll get better, and know when and how to use your USP/Glock.

Dude, you aren't very good at spanish are you? Lua is a spanish word meaning 'moon' so therefore, you do not type it out in capitals. Btw, you still haven't followed some very good instructions.
